Nurses can serve a significant role in helping patients reduce their blood pressure and in achieving goals for attaining a healthy blood pressure. Strategies that can help include 1.) Increase awareness of the need to assess, treat, and control blood pressure, 2.) Assist patient with high blood pressure to effective evaluation and monitoring, 3.) Motivate patients to assess and manage their blood pressure, 4.) Use correct technique to measure blood pressure, 5.) Provide patient education, 6.) Provide Patient Education Resources, and 7.) Modify treatment for older patients to achieve treatment goals.
